Knuffle Bunny

Knuffle Bunny from The Frost Family on Vimeo.

Helen started loving the book Knuffle Bunny by Mo Willems when she was about 8 months old. Now that she's 18 months old, it's still one of her very favorites. Check out this video to hear her helping me read it.

Memorial Day BBQ's

This weekend we had one BBQ adventure after another with perfect weather each day. We started at Nate's on Saturday where Vinny (3) and Dom (8) were also guests. Helen chased Vinny all around, calling, "Winny! Winny!" They played great together. Here they are watering a plant:
The adults dragged the kids around the yard on a sled:

Then when the adults got tired, Helen decided to take over:
On Sunday, we went to Brad and Candice's where Helen worked on perfecting her spoon-feeding skills. Apparently, it helps to open your mouth really wide:

Brad took this photo on his iPhone and then fixed it up in Photoshop. Pretty sweet:
On Monday, we went to Jessica's to finish off the lovely BBQ weekend. Here's a video of Helen playing hide-and-seek on the swings:

Photo Shoot

Here's one of the preview shots from Helen's photo shoot on Saturday. Tatiana found this great photographer who only takes outdoor shots, so we waited for spring and ended up spending a very chilly morning in a park in St. Paul right on the river. Helen loved it despite the cold. She's still running around saying, "Kim! Kim!" and pretending to take pictures. I'll post more of these 18 month photos when I get them.

Happy Mother's Day!

Every day with Helen is a happy mother's day, but Sunday was especially lovely. We spent the afternoon at Fort Snelling State Park - one of my very favorite destinations in the Twin Cities.

Two really funny things happened on our walk through the woods. First she's learning about her last name, so I turned to her and asked her what her last name is and she stopped in her tracks, looked up at the sky and said, "uuuuuuuuuh. hmmmmmm. fffffffff... uuuuuuuh.... FOSS!!!!!" and we cracked up. She was so proud of herself and kept repeating it. "Henum! Foss!"

Second, a dog passed us on the trail and Helen called after it in her loudest squawk, "DOG!!! DOG!!" (sounds more like "dock!") and tried to catch up. Some people passing us laughed and said she sounded like a baby bird. This is how she looked marching down the trail after the dog:
And here's a little video:

Can you believe the resemblance?
